Sav-O~Hard Plastic Mechanical Clown Ad Bank~McLachlen Banking Corp,Wash DC, 1950s Offered is a hard plastic advertising/promotional coin bank from the McLachlen Banking Corporation, Washington DC. “Sav-O” the clown will eat coins up to the size of a quarter by putting the coin in the mechanical right arm, and depressing the pom on the top of his hat; his eyes roll back, and the hand raises and deposits the coin in his mouth. The key is missing and no coins are in the bank currently. No chips or cracks to the plastic, measures: 7.5″ in height. It’s interesting to note that the McLachlen Building, in which the bank was housed is on the National Register of historic places. Circa 1950s. 1950s Glenolden Savings & Loan, Pennsylvania – co-sham cleaning cloth
The Glenolden Savings & Loan Association was an institution located in Glenolden, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1896, it provided tradional savings and loan services to its customers until it was acquired by Elmwood Federal Savings Bank in 1985. For auction is a customer promotional gift from Glenolden, a “co-sham cleaning cloth”. The cloth measures appx 9×6 inches folded and opens to appx 18×12 inches. According to the information sheet included, it could be washed and reused and is softer than chamois.
